How to Separate Hospital Fees from Service Fees in China

Foreign patients often receive one combined quote and do not know what is hospital cost, service cost, translation cost, or agency margin. This is one of the easiest ways to overpay.

Ask for a split quote

• Hospital registration or consultation fee.
• Estimated tests, imaging, medicine, or procedure fees.
• International department or VIP service fee.
• Interpreter fee.
• Facilitator or coordination fee.
• Transport, accommodation, or extra service fee.

What should worry you

• The service refuses to separate hospital fees from its own fees.
• You cannot pay the hospital directly.
• The quote says "all included" but excludes tests, medicine, complications, or follow-up.
• The price changes when you ask for written details.
